Find Ski Chalets and Luxury Chalets in Courchevel
So what's Courchevel like?
Courchevel is a collection of villages which are levelled in order of wealth. The highest, Courchevel 1850, is where the most affluent stay, with its Michelin starred restaurants and its private airstrip to accommodate the jet-set arriving from Paris and beyond. As you go down in height so the prices reduce. At Courchevel 1650 and 1550 everything becomes more affordable. There is still a great atmosphere down here for the lesser mortals, and presumably good celeb spotting opportunities, so don’t be disheartened, and the skiing won’t disappoint either – all the villages have gondolas connecting them so access to other villages and skiing is easy. Lower still is Courchevel 1300, a more traditional village where the peasants really know how to kick up their heels!
There is affordable accommodation in each Courchevel village ranging from luxury catered chalets and self-catering chalets to hotels and apartments.
The après ski is better the higher you get, with Courchevel 1850 being the biggest high. It has an extensive range of bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants to choose from as well as an ice rink and bowling ally. You can take a hot air balloon ride, skidoo trips, go parapenting, and rafting down the Olympic ski jump in Le Praz. It’s not all about skiing and boarding in Couchevel; it’s just the icing on the cake.
